The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against four men in connection with the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru, identifying them as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha, Maaz Muneer Ahmed, and Muzammil Shareef. The accused, linked to ISIS, initially attempted an IED attack on the Bengaluru BJP office that failed, leading them to target the cafe on March 1, 2024, injuring nine people. The NIA's investigation revealed that Shazib planted the bomb, and both he and Taaha had been absconding since 2020 after their involvement in the Al-Hind ISIS module. The operation was funded through cryptocurrencies, converted to cash via Telegram-based P2P platforms. The accused used fraudulent Indian SIM cards and bank accounts, and were arrested in West Bengal 42 days post-blast. They have been charged under multiple laws, including the IPC, UAPA, and Explosive Substances Act.
