Dartmouth Names Stadium After Coach Teevens

Dartmouth College dedicated its football stadium as 'Buddy Teevens Stadium' in honor of the late coach, who passed away in September 2023 after a bicycle accident. The ceremony drew over 700 attendees, including family, friends, and alumni, where Dartmouth President Sian Leah Beilock praised Teevens' contributions to the program and community. Teevens, a former Ivy League player and coach, led Dartmouth to five Ivy League championships and was a pioneer in player safety, introducing the Mobile Virtual Player to reduce injuries. His commitment to academics and safety for players was highlighted by linebacker Micah Green, who noted Teevens’ support for balancing education and athletics. The dedication signifies a lasting legacy for Teevens, whose impact on the program is expected to inspire future generations. The Big Green football team won their first game at the newly named stadium shortly after the dedication.
