June Parades and Pride Events Energize U.S. Cities

Cities across the United States marked the start of June with festive parades and celebrations supporting local traditions and LGBTQ+ Pride. Cincinnati held Pride flag-raising ceremonies at City Hall and the Hamilton County Courthouse, with a major parade planned for June 28. Houston is hosting a series of inclusive Pride events throughout June, emphasizing unity and resilience amid national challenges to LGBTQ+ rights. Santa Rosa’s 40th annual Sonoma County Pride Parade drew thousands, featuring vibrant community and law enforcement participation despite high temperatures. Twin Falls celebrated one of its largest Western Days parades with over 100 floats and local honorees. Wichita’s Riverfest began with the Sundown Parade, attracting tens of thousands and launching a week-long city festival.
