Lions Beat Australia in Opening 2025 Test

The British & Irish Lions opened their 2025 tour with a 27-19 victory over Australia in Brisbane, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series. Andy Farrell’s side impressed with dominant forward play and standout performances from Tadhg Beirne, Tom Curry, and Finn Russell. Australia, coached by Joe Schmidt, struggled without key forwards Will Skelton and Rob Valetini, although late tries narrowed the margin. The Lions remain unbeaten through their warm-up matches but have yet to reach full fluency. This series is the Lions’ first visit to Australia since their 2-1 triumph in 2013.
