Leavesden Builds School for New Harry Potter Series

Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden has been granted permission to build a temporary school to accommodate child actors for HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series, which began production in 2025. The facility, consisting of portable structures, is designed to serve up to 600 pupils during peak filming periods but will generally host about 150 students on weekdays between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. The school will remain in place for up to 10 years, supporting the show's plan to adapt each Harry Potter book into a separate season and ensuring uninterrupted education for young cast members. Production has officially started, and first-look photos have been released of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Nick Frost as Hagrid. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027, following a casting process that saw 32,000 children audition for lead roles. The educational infrastructure highlights HBO's investment and addresses the logistical challenge of balancing education with a large, rotating cast of minors.
