Matthew McConaughey Returns with New Film and Projects

Matthew McConaughey returns to acting with the film The Rivals of Amziah King after a six-year hiatus, during which he wrote his memoir, 'Greenlights', and spent time with family. He describes acting as a 'vacation' where he can singularly focus on his role, recalling his enjoyment and skill in performing. The film, set to premiere at the SXSW 2025 Festival, features McConaughey as a charismatic honey operation owner in Oklahoma. Additionally, McConaughey will appear in The Lost Bus, an R-rated drama based on Lizzie Johnson's book. Despite his hiatus, McConaughey maintains a fondness for his role in the first season of True Detective, considering it the best season of the series. The upcoming fifth season of True Detective, set in Jamaica Bay, New York, will continue under Issa López's direction.
