Walmart Opens 350-Acre Campus in Bentonville

Walmart Inc. has unveiled its new 350-acre Home Office campus in Bentonville, Arkansas, which is set to open in phases through 2025. The multi-billion-dollar investment features mass timber construction, renewable energy sources, and smart building technology, emphasizing employee well-being, environmental stewardship, and community integration. The campus includes a variety of amenities such as a 200,000-square-foot auditorium, a food hall, childcare facilities, and extensive pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. CEO Doug McMillon highlighted the project's aim to honor the company's heritage and provide a positive impact on customers' lives. The initiative aligns with Walmart's commitment to sustainability, as it incorporates over 750,000 native plants and aims for LEED Platinum certification. This project follows a strategy initially announced in 2019, aiming to enhance Walmart's corporate operations for the future.
