Texas A&M Football Begins Fall Camp Ahead 2025 Season

Texas A&M football, under head coach Mike Elko, has officially begun its 2025 fall camp with the season opener against UTSA just 32 days away. The team arrives healthy, a welcome change after injury struggles in recent years, and Elko emphasized the shift in team mindset focusing on the offensive line as the heartbeat of the offense. Elko has taken over calling defensive plays with hopes that a more consistent pass rush and improved pass defense will elevate the team’s performance after a difficult end to the 2024 season. Several players stood out during summer workouts, including junior defensive lineman Cashius Howell, sophomore Marcus Ratcliffe, and true freshman receiver TK Norman, who made a strong impression despite his newcomer status. The coaching staff has also integrated 14 transfer portal players and welcomed a top-ranked 2026 recruiting class, aiming to blend talent and experience across the roster. Additionally, Elko praised transfer portal addition KC Concepcion and highlighted the team’s scientific approach to conditioning, with quarterback Marcel Reed close to his ideal playing weight as he faces pressure to lead the offense effectively.
