Juvenile Arrested After 35-Mile Chase With Baby
A juvenile stole a vehicle with a 1-year-old asleep in the back seat near Pine Grove Avenue and Hancock Street in Port Huron, Michigan, around 9 p.m., prompting a high-speed police chase that exceeded 100 mph. The pursuit, involving the Marysville Police Department, St. Clair and Macomb County Sheriff’s Offices, and Chesterfield Township Police, ended approximately 35 miles away in Chesterfield Township after the suspect crashed into multiple parked cars. The child was found unharmed and was safely returned to their mother after evaluation by emergency personnel. The suspect, who reportedly has a lengthy criminal history, was taken into custody and lodged at the Macomb Juvenile Detention Facility. Authorities praised the quick and coordinated multi-agency response that ensured the child’s safety. Police are asking the public to provide any additional information or anonymous tips related to the incident.
