Twins Overhaul Staff After Missing Playoffs

The Minnesota Twins have made significant changes to their coaching staff following a disappointing late-season collapse that cost them a playoff spot. General Manager Thad Levine was fired, and hitting coaches Rudy Hernandez and David Popkins, along with assistant hitting coach Derek Shomon and assistant bench/infield coach Tony Diaz, will not return for the 2025 season. Despite these changes, President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey and Manager Rocco Baldelli will remain with the team. The team struggled offensively in the final months, ranking low in runs per game and OPS, which contributed to their downfall. The Twins had a strong start to the season, holding a 95.4% chance of making the playoffs in early September, but ended with a record of 82-80. The team will begin their 2025 season with a game against Atlanta on February 22.
