Inter Milan Appoints Cristian Chivu New Head Coach Ahead Club World Cup

Inter Milan has appointed Romanian Cristian Chivu as their new head coach on a two-year contract, replacing Simone Inzaghi who left for Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal following Inter's 5-0 Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint Germain. Chivu, a former Inter defender and member of the club's 2010 treble-winning team, previously coached Parma for a brief period, successfully guiding them away from relegation by earning 16 points in 13 matches. Having also managed Inter's youth teams, Chivu is familiar with the club's environment and values, including dedication and sacrifice. Inter will begin their FIFA Club World Cup campaign under Chivu's leadership, starting against Monterrey on June 17 in Los Angeles. Before settling on Chivu, Inter considered other candidates such as Cesc Fabregas and Patrick Vieira, but negotiations did not materialize.
