Man Fatally Shot by LAPD During Hyde Park Confrontation

In the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles, an argument between two men escalated into a physical confrontation that led to Los Angeles Police Department officers fatally shooting one of the men. The incident occurred near Hyde Park and Crenshaw boulevards, where LAPD Gang Enforcement Detail Unit officers observed the argument and approached to investigate. One suspect fired multiple shots, prompting the officers to return fire and fatally wound the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the suspect was shooting at the officers or the other man involved in the argument. The second man is being interviewed by police but has not been taken into custody.
