Celtic, Rangers Confirmed Europa League Opponents in Group Stage Draw
Celtic and Rangers will both compete in the Europa League league phase following their elimination from Champions League qualifying, with Celtic facing teams like Roma, Feyenoord, and Bologna, and Rangers drawn against Porto, Roma, Braga, and others. Both Glasgow clubs will play eight matches each, with four home and four away games, aiming to finish in the top eight to progress directly to the last 16, while those finishing 9th to 24th will enter a play-off round. Rangers, who were among the top seeds, will host Roma, Braga, Ludogorets, and Genk, and travel to Porto, Ferencvaros, Sturm Graz, and Brann, starting their campaign on September 24/25. Celtic dropped into the Europa League after losing to Kairat Almaty on penalties, while Rangers entered after a heavy aggregate defeat to Club Brugge. The final of the competition is scheduled for May 20, 2026, at Besiktas Park in Istanbul. Fixture dates will be confirmed soon, with both clubs aiming to build on recent European performances, including Rangers' quarter-final run last season and Celtic's 2021-22 Europa League group stage participation.
