Woman Charged with Murder in Reporter Adan Manzano's Death, Accomplice Arrested

Danette Colbert has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Adan Manzano, a 27-year-old Telemundo reporter found dead in a Kenner hotel during Super Bowl week. Surveillance footage captured Colbert with Manzano shortly before his death, and investigators allege she used his credit card afterward. Toxicology reports indicated that Manzano had Alprazolam (Xanax) in his system, along with alcohol, contributing to his death by positional asphyxia. Colbert's alleged accomplice, Ricky White, was arrested in Florida on multiple charges, including access device fraud and robbery, and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Authorities suggest that Colbert may have a history of drugging and robbing victims, with evidence linking her to similar offenses. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley emphasized the department's commitment to seeking justice for Manzano's family.
