June Squibb, Cynthia Nixon Star in Broadway Debut of Pulitzer-Finalist Marjorie Prime

June Squibb, at age 96, will star in the title role of Jordan Harrison's Pulitzer Prize finalist play "Marjorie Prime," making her return to Broadway this fall at the Hayes Theater. The play, directed by Anne Kauffman, explores themes of aging, memory, and artificial intelligence, focusing on an older woman who interacts with a holographic AI version of her deceased husband as she battles dementia. The production also stars Tony winners Cynthia Nixon and Danny Burstein, alongside Christopher Lowell, and marks Harrison's Broadway debut. "Marjorie Prime" premiered off-Broadway in 2015 and was adapted into a 2017 film featuring Jon Hamm and Lois Smith. The play's Broadway run begins with previews on November 20, 2025, and opens officially on December 8, with tickets currently on sale. This production is part of Second Stage Theater's 2025-26 season, which includes other notable Broadway and off-Broadway works.
