Blues Sign Veteran Centre Nick Bjugstad Two-Year $3.5M Contract
Nick Bjugstad has signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract with the St. Louis Blues, carrying an average annual value of $1.75 million. The 32-year-old forward played 66 games last season with the Utah Hockey Club, recording eight goals and 19 points. Bjugstad, a 6-foot-6 centre from Minneapolis, has amassed 330 points in 760 NHL games, with previous stints at Florida, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Arizona, Edmonton, and Utah. He is expected to fill a bottom-six role for the Blues in the upcoming season. Drafted 19th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2010, Bjugstad has also represented the United States in the World Championship and earned a bronze medal in 2013. The Blues' management highlighted his experience and consistent production as valuable assets to the team.
