Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty has made headlines by winning the prestigious Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back and the Maxwell Award for Player of the Year in college football. With a remarkable season totaling 2,497 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, he leads the nation in both categories, placing him fourth on the FBS all-time single-season rushing list. Jeanty is also a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded Saturday, potentially making him the first Group of Five player to receive the honor since 1963. Earlier, he finished second in the AP Player of the Year voting to Colorado’s Travis Hunter. Jeanty, who helped Boise State to a 12-1 record and a spot in the College Football Playoff, is just 132 yards shy of breaking Barry Sanders' single-season rushing record. His achievements this season include six games with over 200 rushing yards, showcasing his elite performance on the field.
