Ras Al Khaimah Ruler Attends Pope Leo XIV Inauguration in Vatican

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV as the new head of the Catholic Church in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, representing President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Saud conveyed congratulations to Pope Leo XIV and expressed the UAE's commitment to promoting peace, coexistence, tolerance, and interfaith dialogue globally, emphasizing collaboration on humanitarian and social challenges. He highlighted the significance of the Document on Human Fraternity, signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by the late Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, as a landmark for interfaith harmony and human fraternity. The inauguration ceremony was attended by numerous world leaders and dignitaries and follows the passing of Pope Francis, whose tenure was notable for advancing interfaith and human dialogue.
