South Carolina Football Secures Transfer DL Troy Pikes

South Carolina football continues to bolster its roster for the 2025 season by securing transfer defensive lineman Troy Pikes from Georgia Southern, marking their 16th transfer commitment. Pikes, who played in all 13 games last season and recorded 13 tackles, is expected to strengthen the Gamecocks' defensive interior and is one of several defensive linemen joining through the transfer portal. Head coach Shane Beamer and his staff have focused on reinforcing the defense, bringing in a total of nine defenders among their transfers. Pikes is among five defensive tackles in the 2025 class, which features a national top-15 transfer ranking. This aggressive portal activity follows South Carolina's first 9-win season since 2017, positioning the team for another competitive campaign. Additionally, the Gamecocks' basketball program added 6-7 forward Abu Yarmah, further enhancing their incoming class.
