Star Wars 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Trailer Released Ahead May 2026 Launch
Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, a standalone theatrical sequel to the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. The film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin alongside Grogu, with notable co-stars including Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne. Set over a decade after Return of the Jedi, the story follows the New Republic enlisting Din Djarin and Grogu to combat scattered Imperial warlords, featuring action-packed elements such as toppling Imperial AT-ATs and gladiator fights involving creatures from Dejarik. The trailer highlights a blend of adventurous and charming moments, with familiar elements like the Razor Crest spaceship making a return despite its destruction in the series. This release marks the first Star Wars theatrical film since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, with a follow-up movie, Star Wars: Starfighter, planned for 2027. Fans can expect a continuation of the franchise's best qualities, combining big spectacles with intimate character moments.
