Tunisian Film 'Red Path' Wins Top Award
At the 4th Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Tunisia’s 'Red Path' directed by Lotfi Achour won the Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film and the Best Director Award, both presented by Spike Lee. The film, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, portrays a young shepherd's trauma after witnessing the beheading of his cousin by jihadists. Mahdi Fleifel's 'To a Land Unknown' received the Silver Yusr and Best Actor Award for Mahmood Bakri, while Oday Rasheed’s 'Songs of Adam' won Best Screenplay. Honorary awards were given to Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Viola Davis, among other stars in attendance. The festival showcased 122 films from 85 countries, with significant international representation. This year's event highlighted the growing cinematic landscape in the region and its commitment to diverse storytelling.
