J. Alphonse Nicholson and Sherman Augustus Join Lanterns

HBO's upcoming series 'Lanterns,' based on the Green Lantern DC comics, has expanded its cast with J. Alphonse Nicholson and Sherman Augustus joining as key recurring characters. Nicholson and Augustus will portray John Senior, the father of John Stewart, with Augustus playing the present-day version and Nicholson appearing in flashbacks. The series will explore Earth-based mysteries with Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) mentoring new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) amidst a murder investigation. 'Lanterns,' produced by HBO in collaboration with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios, is helmed by showrunner Chris Mundy, with Damon Lindelof and Tom King as executive producers.
