Bangor in North Wales has been named the UK's worst seaside city for tourists, according to a comprehensive survey by Which? Travel, with visitors criticizing its food, shopping, and attractions but praising its scenic beauty and suitability as a base for exploring North Wales. The survey, which covered 120 UK seaside towns, gave Bangor the lowest overall score, with particularly poor ratings for value for money and beach quality, though its cathedral and pier received some positive attention. Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire and Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset also ranked among the bottom three, both receiving low marks for food, attractions, and shopping, but slightly higher ratings for aspects like beaches and parking. Despite negative feedback, some reviewers acknowledged the heritage and natural surroundings of Bangor, as well as its proximity to outdoor attractions such as Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.
