The film reveals a major twist where Christian, initially presented as an ally and potential romantic interest, is uncovered as the mastermind behind AMELIA's destructive actions. Producer James Wan described SOULM8TE, set for release in January 2026, as a more mature, adult-oriented exploration of AI, likening it to a 1990s erotic thriller with robots, distinct from the PG-13 tone of the M3GAN films but still containing dark humor.
