Virginia State Police Agent Shoots Man During Virginia Beach Break-In

An off-duty Virginia State Police special agent shot and killed a 40-year-old man who attempted to break into his home in the Bay Colony neighborhood of Virginia Beach. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on a Sunday, when the man tried to force his way inside the agent’s residence on Lee Road, leading to a physical confrontation during which the agent fired his service weapon. The man was given emergency medical care at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
