The latest J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study reveals that air travel in the U.S. is thriving, with Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) earning top honors in the mega airport category, scoring 671 points. Despite rising travel costs, 60% of travelers reported enjoying their airport experiences, with MSP leading in areas like ease of travel and terminal facilities. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport followed MSP, while Newark Liberty International Airport ranked last. In the large airport category, John Wayne Airport topped the list, and Indianapolis International Airport excelled among medium-sized airports. The study highlights a decline in average spending per passenger on food and beverages, indicating a potential breaking point in consumer spending. Overall, passenger satisfaction remains relatively high, although crowded terminals significantly impact the travel experience.
