NASCAR's International Expansion with Mexico City Race

The NASCAR Cup Series is expanding its international presence with its first points-paying race outside the U.S. since 1958, set to occur at Mexico City's Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in June 2025. Despite concerns over security and safety, NASCAR remains committed to this international venture, supported by a two-year contract with promoter OCESA. The 2025 season kicked off with early wins by William Byron and Christopher Bell, with NASCAR's first road course race of the season taking place at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The event will feature a new shorter track layout aimed at enhancing competition, and young prodigy Connor Zilisch is set to make his debut at COTA, drawing significant attention as a potential winner.
