RIL, Meta Launch Enterprise AI JV in India

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has partnered with Meta to launch a joint venture investing around USD 100 million to provide AI technology solutions for Indian businesses, utilizing Meta's open-source Llama models to democratize enterprise-grade AI. Parallel agents, which enable multiple AI entities to operate collaboratively, are emerging as a key innovation in scaling AI capabilities, with demonstrated benefits in sectors like autonomous driving and robotics, and are expected to see widespread adoption by 2026. However, despite growing AI investments—projected to reach $61.9 billion in generative AI this year—many companies struggle to translate pilots into enterprise-wide deployments, with only a small percentage achieving full operational scale. In the UK, while over half of enterprises experiment with AI, only 14% have operationalized AI workflows broadly, highlighting the challenge of moving beyond siloed pilots to generate meaningful ROI. Experts emphasize the critical need for clear AI strategies aligned with business goals to maximize investment value and operational success, recommending principles including protocol development and employee training. Additionally, enterprises are evolving from manual, transactional use of Large Language Models to sophisticated multi-agent AI systems capable of handling complex workflows with modularity, parallel processing, and enhanced reasoning, vital for regulated industries requiring accuracy and compliance.
