Weinstein Pleads Not Guilty to New Charges

Harvey Weinstein, 72, appeared in a New York courtroom on Wednesday to plead not guilty to a new indictment that includes up to three additional sex offenses. The new charges, which remain sealed until Weinstein's arraignment, stem from alleged incidents in the mid-2000s and 2016. Weinstein, who recently underwent emergency heart surgery, was cleared to attend the hearing in person. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office presented the case to a grand jury, which returned the indictment earlier this month. Prosecutors aim to incorporate these charges into Weinstein's retrial set for November 12, following the overturning of his 2020 conviction. Weinstein has consistently denied all allegations, asserting that any sexual activities were consensual.
