Australia, South Africa Reveal T20 World Cup Plans

Australia's T20I captain Mitchell Marsh has confirmed that he and Travis Head will open the batting for the team, including at the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. This marks a new strategy for Australia, as Marsh and Head have not previously opened together in T20Is but have been successful partners in ODIs. The decision comes after a 5-0 T20I series sweep against the West Indies and follows a period of experimentation at the top of the order since David Warner's retirement. Marsh also noted the possibility of Tim David moving up the batting order following his recent record-setting T20I century. Australia's preparations begin with a three-match T20I series against South Africa. South Africa will field a young squad led by Aiden Markram as both teams build toward the World Cup.
