Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, 99, has been hospitalized at the National Heart Institute since Monday due to continuous coughing. Mahathir, who has a history of heart problems and has been in and out of hospitals in recent years, was last hospitalized for nearly three months earlier this year. His spokesman, Sufi Yusoff, confirmed the hospitalization and stated that Mahathir is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days. Mahathir led Malaysia for nearly 25 years over two different terms, with his last stint ending in 2020. He is also under investigation by Malaysia's anti-graft agency related to asset declaration.
