Kirby Dach Out for Season After Knee Surgery
Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his right knee, marking the second consecutive year he has faced a season-ending knee injury. Dach, who recorded 10 goals and 22 points in 57 games this season, previously suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the same knee during the 2023-24 season, which limited his play. The 24-year-old is expected to recover in time for the start of the 2025-26 campaign. In Dach's absence, Owen Beck has stepped up to fill the second-line role, while the Canadiens remain active in trade discussions ahead of the March 7 deadline. Despite Dach's injury, the team is currently on a three-game winning streak and is aiming for a playoff position, being just five points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets. This situation underscores the Canadiens' need to solidify their roster for the upcoming seasons, particularly in the center position.
