Deer Triggers Multi-Vehicle Crash on Maine Turnpike

A multi-vehicle crash occurred on the Maine Turnpike near mile marker 13 in York on Tuesday evening at approximately 7:13 p.m. when a red Mitsubishi Mirage struck a deer in the center lane, disabling the vehicle. After the driver exited safely, a commercial fuel truck was unable to stop in time, colliding with the Mitsubishi, pushing it into the median, then veering right and striking a BMW crossover. Both the fuel truck and the BMW ended up off the right side of the road. The incident resulted in only minor injuries, with no hospitalizations, and the deer was killed. Emergency response from multiple agencies led to a lane reduction on the southbound side for over an hour.
