Thales Reports 9% Sales, Orders Growth Driven by Defense in First Nine Months 2025
French aerospace and defense company Thales reported an 8.4% increase in sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2025, reaching €15.26 billion ($17.7 billion), with growth in all regions and segments except for the Cyber & Digital segment, which saw a 3.8% decline mainly due to integration challenges following the acquisition of cybersecurity firm Imperva. Sales in mature markets rose 7.4%, led by the UK, while emerging markets saw a 12.4% increase. The defence segment experienced strong growth of 13.9%, and aerospace sales grew 7%. Order intake also rose 8% to €16.76 billion, including 14 large orders worth over €100 million each, with notable contracts like the development phase for the European Union's secure communications satellite constellation IRIS². Thales reaffirmed its fiscal 2025 outlook, expecting organic sales growth between 6% and 7% and an adjusted EBIT margin between 12.2% and 12.4%, despite competitive pressures in the space telecom sector. The company benefits from a favorable medium and long-term outlook due to its strong market positioning and relevant product offerings.
