Mahindra Honours Warranty, Confirms Petrol Vehicles Safe with E20 Fuel

Mahindra & Mahindra has assured customers that all its petrol vehicles are safe to operate with the new E20 fuel blend, which contains 20% ethanol, and the company will honor all warranty commitments related to its usage. Vehicles manufactured after April 1, 2025, are specially calibrated for E20 to ensure optimal acceleration and fuel efficiency, while older models, though safe, may experience minor variations in performance depending on driving behavior. This advisory comes amid widespread consumer concerns and social media complaints about reduced mileage and engine performance since E20 became the standard fuel at many stations across India. Mahindra emphasized its compliance with gasoline standards and its commitment to supporting government initiatives on biofuels and sustainable automotive solutions. The Indian government, represented by Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, has dismissed social media criticisms as politically motivated.
