Hertz Launches Nationwide Fully Online Car-Buying Platform
Hertz Global has launched a fully online car-buying platform, transforming its website from a simple online catalog into a comprehensive e-commerce site where customers can browse, finance, and purchase vehicles nationwide. This move builds on Hertz's partnership with Amazon Autos, which allows vehicle purchases directly through Amazon and has expanded to all Hertz Car Sales locations across the U.S. The new platform also offers customers trade-in offers, protection plans, and credit approval pre-qualification, aiming to make retail the company's primary car selling channel. Hertz CEO Gil West emphasized that this development modernizes the customer experience by providing greater inventory visibility and streamlined purchasing. The company has been expanding its retail channels amid fluctuating rental demand, having shifted away from electric vehicles due to higher repair costs. This initiative includes a national advertising campaign featuring Tom Brady to highlight the ease of buying used vehicles from Hertz.
