This move, following a May resolution supported by 143 votes, has been criticized by Israel as political favoritism. Concurrently, Israel has proposed safe passage for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in exchange for hostages' release and Gaza's demilitarization. The UN is also set to vote on a Palestinian draft resolution demanding Israel end its presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory within six months, aligning with a July advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice. This vote is expected to occur just before world leaders gather at the UN for their annual meeting.
