Newark Councilwoman Dwendolyn Creecy Charged with DUI After Crash

Dwendolyn Creecy, a 54-year-old councilmember for Newark's 4th District, was arrested late Friday night after crashing her vehicle into four parked cars while allegedly under the influence. The incident occurred around midnight on March 28 on Madison Drive, where police found Creecy at the scene and gathered evidence of her impairment. She has been charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession, and Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. After processing, Creecy was released back to her home and is due for court appearances regarding the charges. She is currently running unopposed for re-election in the upcoming April 8 election.
