India is facing severe weather conditions as heavy rains continue to lash multiple regions. The IMD has issued red alerts for extremely heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and parts of Maharashtra, while several states including Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are experiencing flash floods and landslides, leading to significant fatalities and damages. In Himachal Pradesh, over 77 have died, and 190 roads remain closed. Jharkhand also faces severe disruptions with road diversions washed away and schools closed. Delhi and Mumbai are also grappling with heavy rains, causing waterlogging and traffic snarls. Monsoon rains influenced by the warming of the Indian Ocean are expected to persist, with more downpours predicted in the coming days.
