British Airways Expands Cardiff Maintenance Facility

British Airways is investing multi-million pounds to expand its maintenance engineering facility at Cardiff Airport, enhancing its capabilities to accommodate larger long-haul Airbus A350 aircraft. The upgrade will transform one of the current three maintenance bays into two fully flexible bays, allowing for more complex maintenance tasks and increasing efficiency across operations. This project is part of BA’s £7 billion transformation plan, with construction set to begin in 2025 and completion expected by 2026. The investment underscores BA's commitment to its Welsh operations, which currently employ 480 staff and contribute significantly to the local economy.
