74-Year-Old Man Killed in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run

Segundo Reina-Gaon, a 74-year-old man, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, on Wednesday night. He was crossing Ridge Boulevard at Bay Ridge Avenue when a white SUV struck him, pushing him into a parked car before the driver fled the scene. Surveillance footage revealed the SUV did not appear to slow down during the collision, prompting local officials, including State Senator Andrew Gounardes, to call for the driver's apprehension and for improvements to pedestrian safety at the location. Despite being transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, Reina-Gaon succumbed to his injuries.
