Senators Edge Red Wings 2-1 in Ottawa
Josh Norris scored twice, including a game-winning goal with 41.6 seconds remaining, leading the Ottawa Senators to a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. The Senators controlled much of the game, despite failing to convert on five power-play opportunities. Norris opened the scoring at 12:14 of the first period, and Alex DeBrincat tied it for Detroit in the third period with a power-play goal. The loss extended the Red Wings' winless streak to four games, leaving them struggling near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Coach Derek Lalonde noted the team's need to better manage the game, as they have only won three of their last eleven matches. Despite the defeat, Detroit's penalty kill showed improvement by successfully defending against Ottawa's power plays.
