Cast, Focus, and Release Set for OpenAI Film

Luca Guadagnino is directing 'Artificial,' a comedic drama about OpenAI's 2023 leadership crisis, focusing on the internal power struggle during the five-day period when CEO Sam Altman was fired and rehired. Andrew Garfield will portray Altman as a schemer, Yura Borisov will play co-founder Ilya Sutskever as a betrayed visionary, and Monica Barbaro will appear as CTO Mira Murati. Ike Barinholtz is cast as Elon Musk, depicted as a minor, comic character, while Satya Nadella and Dario Amodei are also included in the ensemble. The film, written by Simon Rich, critiques Silicon Valley's reckless AI culture and aims for a tone similar to 'The Social Network.' Early script reviews suggest unflattering portrayals of several tech figures. 'Artificial' is expected to begin filming later this year and is slated for release in 2026.
