BJP Starts Process for National President Election

This move follows the completion of a significant membership drive, which has added over 9 crore members to the party. The election for the new president is anticipated to begin tentatively in December 2024 or early next year, contingent on the conclusion of organisational elections in at least half of the states. Current president JP Nadda, who has extended his term since January 2020, has overseen the party during a pivotal period. Historically, the BJP has not faced contested elections for the president's position, typically resulting in unopposed selections.
