Karch Kiraly Named U.S. Men's Volleyball Coach

Karch Kiraly, a volleyball legend and three-time Olympic gold medalist, has been appointed as the head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Kiraly, who previously led the U.S. Women’s National Team to a gold medal in Tokyo and a silver in Paris, will replace John Speraw, who has transitioned to the role of USA Volleyball's president and CEO. Kiraly expressed excitement for the new challenge, recalling his deep commitment to the women’s team over the past decade. As a player, he was instrumental in securing the first Olympic volleyball gold for the U.S. in 1984 and has since been recognized as one of the sport's greatest figures. The U.S. men's team is currently ranked third in the world and looks to build on its recent bronze medal performance in Paris under Kiraly's leadership. His extensive coaching experience includes a remarkable 327-81 record and multiple championships with the women's team.
