Man Arrested After $45K Jewelry Thefts at Monroe Mall

Cameron McManus, a 33-year-old man from Pageland, was arrested for breaking into multiple jewelry stores at Monroe Crossing Mall in Monroe, North Carolina, and stealing an estimated $45,000 worth of merchandise. The break-ins occurred in the early morning hours of July 24, when police responded to an alarm and found shattered glass and the Piercing Pagoda kiosk broken into. Additional stores reported missing items, prompting an intensive investigation by Monroe Police. McManus was taken into custody on August 6 at a local hospital and later booked into Union County Jail with a $25,000 bond, which he has since met. He faces charges including felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and injury to real property. The police continue to investigate the case and have asked the public for any additional information related to the break-ins.
