Second Suspect Charged in Murder of Telemundo Reporter Adan Manzano

Louisiana authorities have charged a second suspect, Rickey White, with second-degree murder in connection with the February death of Adan Manzano, a Telemundo reporter found dead in a Kenner hotel room while covering the Super Bowl. White, who was previously arrested in Florida on related robbery and fraud charges, has been linked by police to Danette Colbert—the first suspect charged—through correspondence suggesting the two acted in concert. Colbert was seen on security footage leaving Manzano's room and is also charged with theft after allegedly using his credit cards posthumously. Manzano's autopsy indicated he died from asphyxiation after ingesting alcohol and Xanax, for which he had no prescription; Xanax was reportedly found at Colbert's home. Both defense attorneys argue there is insufficient evidence tying their clients to Manzano's death, with White's attorney claiming police have not shown White was in the area at the time. Under Louisiana law, second-degree murder charges can apply if a death results from drug distribution or during the commission of certain felonies such as robbery.
