Blackpool FC has sacked head coach Neil Critchley after a disappointing start to the 2024-25 League One season, losing both of their opening matches. Critchley, who had returned to the club in May 2023 after previously leading them to promotion to the Championship, was let go due to a series of underwhelming performances, according to owner Simon Sadler. Richard Keogh, a first-team coach, has been appointed as interim head coach while the club aims to improve its fortunes ahead of the upcoming matches. Critchley’s assistant, Mike Garrity, has also parted ways with the club. Despite the recent struggles, Sadler expressed gratitude for Critchley's contributions, especially in securing the club's promotion in 2021.
