Marty Supreme Movie Set for Christmas 2025 Release

A24 has announced that Josh Safdie's film 'Marty Supreme', starring Timothée Chalamet, will be released on December 25, 2025. The film, which is loosely based on the life of ping pong champion Marty Reisman, combines a fictional story with elements of Reisman's career, which included winning 22 major titles and becoming the oldest player to win an open national competition. The cast features notable names such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, The Creator, and Fran Drescher, and the film is produced by Safdie alongside co-writer Ronald Bronstein. Described as a globetrotting adventure comedy reminiscent of 'Wolf of Wall Street' and 'Catch Me If You Can', 'Marty Supreme' marks Safdie's first solo directorial project since 2008. Chalamet, known for his intense preparation for roles, indicated that the shoot was demanding yet rewarding, likening Safdie to a modern-day Scorsese. With several other films scheduled for the same date, including 'The Housemaid' and 'Sarah’s Oil', 'Marty Supreme' aims to capture the holiday box office.
