Rays Acquire Infielder Tristan Gray, DFA Coco Montes

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired minor league infielder Tristan Gray from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations, designating utilityman Coco Montes for assignment. Gray, 29, was batting .270 with a .333 on-base percentage, nine homers, and 44 RBIs in 72 games with Triple-A Charlotte before the trade. He has previously appeared in major league games with the Rays, Oakland Athletics, and Miami Marlins, compiling a .152 batting average over 17 MLB games.
